one of the things i planned to do this summer break is to clean the cabinets and drawers at home. this morning, i was cleaning one of the drawers when i came across the letters sent and notes given to me during my college years. i reread most of them and they came from only a few people - olive, ate con, jean, pia, sister nancy, peachy and some groupmates. while reading them, i couldn't help but smile and remember the times when they were sent/given to me. as in i was literally grinning from ear to ear. i am assuming that i have sent/given these people letters and notes too. i am not sure if these people have kept them because for sure if they reread them like i did mine, they'll be grinning too.
i grinned the most at the notes given to me. these are notes wishing me luck in my exam or speech, notes of appreciation and thanks, notes of angsts, corny notes.
there was this one from ate con during her BA114 days, full of frustration over our not being able to meet for quite sometime because of our conflicting schedules (her very busy one actually). mind you, cellphones and texting were not that popular during those times so there was really no way for us to communicate much except for these notes. i wonder now if we had texting then, things would have been easier don't you think?
there were also notes from pia and jean, just notes wishing me goodluck and reminders for our gimmicks. pia and jean, together with dax, were my closest friends during those days. we were known as the powerfriends to many.
there was even a note from this groupmate in my rizal class i think. her name is cha (i can't even remember who she is, hehehe) and she was telling me about her frustration over our report not being that good because of something that happened and that whatever it is that they've seen was not even 1/4 of our preparation.
communication nowadays is easier because of texting, unlimited texting even. however, i am still thankful for those times when face to face communication was at its best. and i treasure those letters so much because they remind me of those times, those good times.
i haven't communicated much with these people nowadays but never will i forget them. they were and are part of my life and they will always be in my heart (even if i don't remember that groupmate, hehehe).
