i feel loved. i said this in my mini-speech last night...being here without my family can get lonely. but being with the PCN (and Kababayan) folks makes me feel that i am with my family. as i look around, i see a family, i see love and i feel loved.
i am amazed. these folks worked hard from the fall semester putting up a good script and rehearsing until the wee hours even during weekdays to put up a good show.
i am happy. these folks wanted to be reconnected with their past and they did as they put up a script with some part of history. one of the things i learned here is that most kababayan students are struggling with their identity, too. i didn't expect that. but these people, they acknowledge that part of them is filipino, too and they want to show that, they want to be that and they struggle with that. putting up the script and the great show demonstrated that. i received messages from two people of different generations (one of whom is not even filipino nor filipino american) telling me that they enjoyed the show and were 'impressed with the creation of the play' as the story is 'something that a lot of people could relate to.'
i am a legend. we all are now. i agree with mikey when he said that 'we will make history, we are going to be legends.' we did make history, and we are legends now.
